Providing Hair Samples

Please have clean hair before taking the hair samples, thank you.

If you are familiar with your colour and know the colour number from any particular colour ring then give us the information and we will start your order after receiving your template. (See Templates).

If your hair IS NOT the same colour all over then it is necessary to provide large hair samples, usually 2 hair samples should be provided when completing our Order Form.

If your hair is the same colour all over then it is necessary to trim enough hair to fill only one box on the Order Form.

Two hair samples are required (above the ear and from the back). The areas to take the hair samples from are labelled on the glass mannequin below:

Summary before you start:

- The hair sample must be clean. Dirty hair does not show its true colour.

- Larger hair samples are better, therefore cut as much as you can.

- If you wish uniform colour throughout the hair system and your hair colour is fairly uniform, take hair samples from both sides and from the back, mixing them together as you go.

- For graying temples, take hair samples from each side and back, keeping them separate, and tape them to into appropriate boxes on the Order Form.

Detailed Instructions for Taking Hair Samples:

- Lift your existing hair in the area specified on the diagram above. Cut many small samples of your hair at the scalp in that area next to the head using sharp scissors.

- Take three small hair samples, and try not to blunt cut. With the sharp scissors razor the area. Hold the hair firmly at the tip and at the root, then with the blade move up and down the shaft of the hairs. This is simple so don’t be scared, you or your helper can do this.

- Lay each hair sample on the box marked for that area on the Order Form. The hair sample amount should be equivalent to the example picture provided on the right here.

- Leave the hair at its full length with the root ends at the top end of the box.

- Secure the hair for this particular hair sample area with scotch tape.

- Put the hair samples for area 1 and 2 in the marked boxes provided. If you have taken hair samples from other areas then place those hair samples in the alternative boxes and indicate if you want the hair texture and colour to be matched in these areas, or just the hair colour.

- If you have NO hair for some areas due to the amount of hair loss, the hair samples provided will be enough to uniform your hair system's colour and density.

- If you do not have any hair at the front, top, or crown area, then you can select the colour for these areas from the hair samples that you are able to provide. On the Order Form indicate which hair samples should be used for those areas that you do not have existing hair by using arrows pointing from actual hair samples to empty sample boxes.
