For the client that likes to wear their hair system for 3-5 weeks on a permanent wear this is the method of attachment to use.
Tools and products needed:
Red back tape, hand mirror, adhesive brush, hair clip, comb, eye-liner (preferably white), and adhesive. The adhesive for this application can be soft-bond or hard-bond.
- Cut your hair to stubble where the hair system will be placed around the perimeter of your head.
- When you attach the hair system to your frontal hairline you must have a marker to achieve the correct position. Most clients have the front hairline 3-4 finger width from the eye brows. If you have a 4 finger hairline when marking the spot you would like to position the system put 3 fingers above your eye brow and mark with the eye-liner. The reason we say mark 3 fingers when it is 4 is so you can see the mark when you attach, then you can gauge correctly a finger width and place the system accordingly. Likewise, if you have a 3 finger hairline, position the mark at 2 finger width.
- Attach the tape around the perimeter leaving the red backing on, if you have a polyurethane front attach the red tape to the front also.
- Remove the red backing from the tape and brush the adhesive carefully and liberally around the perimeter. For clients with excessive oils or have had meltdown with previous adhesives.
- LEAVE THE RED BACKING TAPE ON AND APPLY THE ADHESIVE ON TOP as this helps tremendously for the client with an oily scalp.
- If you would like extra hold you can apply a fine coating of adhesive onto the stubble of your scalp where the perimeter of the hair system will be placed. This WILL need assistance from a spouse or dear friend, or if you are experienced with this attachment method use a hand mirror to closely watch your application when adhering to the back areas of your scalp.
- Now leave your scalp and hair system for 3 minutes to enable the adhesive to go 'tacky'.
- At the front of your hair system pin back the hair with the hair clip. This will enable you to place the hair system correctly without any ‘annoying bangs’ hanging down onto your forehead. You do not want a hit and hope application.
- Get yourself positioned in front of a mirror and place the hair system one finger width above the mark on your forehead and ‘stop’.
- Now is the time to make sure you are happy with the position of your hair system.
- With your head tilted forward slowly roll back your hair system. If you can manage to stop every inch and press firmly with your fingers that would be helpful.
- When you have finished, put a towel over your head and press your hands in a downward motion.
- Now spray some hair4all leave in conditioner and style your hair.
