Photo Instructions for Making Templates for Womens Hair Replacement Systems

Other companies give the same description on how to make a template and it is very basic. Our market researchers used their instructions and failed to make templates from the basic diagrams and descriptions given. However, we have provided step-by-step photographs with detailed instructions to assist you in making the perfect template for hair replacement.

We have NO idea why our competitors do not give the correct information about making templates. We know its not easy, but with the right instructions it does become relatively straight forward after a few goes. We suggest you have a few attempts and then make one to send to us, or contact us and we will arrange an Affiliated Stylist to do this for you at their premises.

Photographic Instructions

Some of these Introductory Kits offered by some companies include molding materials that can only be used once, but using our techniques you can practice as many times as required in order to get the template made correctly. It will cost you no more than £5 to make a template if you do this yourelf.

hair4all is different in that we want you to know what your involvement is right from the start. That is why we state the importance of making a template, and show you the techniques so you can do this at home if you prefer to use the 'self-service' option.

Also, don't forget to read about Hair Samples as they allow us to match the hair for your hair system to your own natural hair.

We would prefer you use the services of an Affiliated Stylist as they are fully trained in making templates and taking hair samples. There is no charge for this service.

    - Cling-Film (extremely thin and clear stuff that is used to wrap food).

    - Tape (Scotch-Type clear tape often referred to as Sellotape).

    - Permanent Marker.

    - Pair of Scissors.

Susan is 43 years old and has fine hair she has noticed her hair becoming thinner over the past few years, especially after having her children!

Perms gave extra fullness but made the hair even more brittle.

You can see from this picture that Susan doesn't have a great deal of hair loss but she also doesn't have any weight or density to give her the fullness that she desires.

I am now deciding the size of the template to be able to design the hair system to give her the extra fullness she desires.

Measuring the cellophane.

After cutting the cellophane to the desired amount...

womens template 10
I have placed the cellophane over Susan’s head making sure the front is on the forehead just above her eyebrows so she can place her fingers to hold it in position.
womens template 11
With the tension from Susan holding the front I am able with both hands to stretch out the small creases.
womens template 12
I do the same for the back area.
womens template 13
Due to Susan having shoulder length hair, I gather the sides in a bundle behind the back of her head. I do not put the hair in a band or pony-tail because it will lift the hair from the crown and may affect a clean contour/shape of the scalp.
womens template 15
I have now gathered the loose cellophane and twisted it behind Susan’s ears to gather the cellophane tightly on the top of her head.
womens template 16
Side shot, you can see the twist I have created causing tight tension on the top.

womens template 18
In this picture you can also see the depth I have finished at the back of the head clearly showing the shape of Susan’s scalp.
womens template 20
Susan now has hold of the twisted ends behind her ears which position the shape before I start to use a marker pen and cellotape.
womens template 22
With the marker pen I put a line where Susan’s hairline starts. I do this now to make it easier to see after the cellotape has been applied. This allows me/you to see if the cellophane slips from the hairline position when the cellotape is attached.
The first attachment of cellotape is from just above the eyebrows to the back of the head (I attach the cellotape to the skin on the forehead to hold everything in position).
womens template 24
Applying cellotape overlapping the first and slightly to the side.
womens template 25
Doing the same on the other side of the scalp, making sure of the overlap.
womens template 26
womens template 27
Applying down the side.
womens template 29
Shot from further away.
womens template 30
Finishing close to Susan’s ears which will create a structured shape with added strength when the template is removed.
womens template 34
Now I am doing the same with the cellotape horizontally across the head and finishing above both ears.
Applying the cellophane horizontally moving towards the forehead overlapping every piece.
womens template 35
And the same from the top moving to the back of the head.

womens template 40
I have applied 3 extra pieces of cellotape at the back of the scalp where the curve is, this gives extra strength to hold the contour.
womens template 41
I now draw a vertical line directly from the hairline and in between Susan’s eyebrows.

womens template 64
You can see the new template is correct to Susan’s hair system she wears presently. We will now show how to attach the hair system.
womens template 66
Removing the tape to prepare for attachment.
womens template 67
Ready to attach.
womens template 68
Because Susan has hair that is fine she now pulls her hair tight with both hands before I make the attachment.
womens template 71
I place the hair system ¼ inch before her natural hairline.
womens template 70
Close up.
womens template 72
I slowly apply the hair system with both hands attaching with a deliberate but firm rolling technique.
womens template 73
Again.
womens template 74
Gradually rolling the hair system to the back of Susan’s head. Susan has now moved her hands to the back and pulled the hair down with both hands, this gives the attachment a secure hold.
womens template 75
Finishing the attachment.
